I am very pleased to say that we were awarded a grant of £10,000 at last night’s Area Board Meeting. This means that another organisation, The Fricker Trust, will release £5,000 to support us and The Unit will continue until at least June 2012, giving us enough time to hopefully raise more money to keep us open after that time.

The Unit would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who came along to the meeting last night. We counted 54 people who were at the meeting just to support The Unit, and many councillors commented that they had never seen so many young people at a meeting before. It made a huge difference to our bid and demonstrated that there is massive support for us; nobody in the room voted against us. Special thanks goes out to everyone who spoke too – you were all brilliant.
